SKIN PIGMENTATION AND HOME REMEDIES FOR DISORDERS
Let’s learn something about the largest organ of our bodies, yes I’m talking about skin here. Why is it that the fairness creams make big claims and never work? They may make your skin complexion a shade or two lighter when applied but it is a short lived experience since you go back to your normal complexion after a good wash.
It’s simple, because your skin colour is naturally determined by what is called “Melanin”. Melanin pigments are naturally produced inside of certain specialized skin cells that are known as “Melanocytes”. Now I won’t get scientific, but I can tell you that it is pointless to think you can actually change your skin colour for good because our complexion is determined by more than one hundred and fifty genes and one tube of chemical ridden cream can not change that.
What we could instead focus on is accepting our complexion and being comfortable in our own beauty and skin. Let’s not let skin complexion decide beauty standards. That being said, a lot can be done to make you look radiant and young and that has nothing to do with complexion.
The only time you need to actually be concerned is when you face skin pigmentation disorders, this condition arises when the Melanin consistency gets disrupted. Excessive Melanin causes Hyperpigmentation and too little will cause what is referred to as Hypopigmentation.
There are numerous internal as well as external factors that can give birth to these disorders, such as stress, severe imbalances in diet, hormonal disorders, biological changes due to pregnancy, exposure to ultraviolet radiation, skin burns or excessive usage of chemicals.
When such a situation arises, you must refrain from using depigmentation agents since they have direct long term harmful consequences. You may resort to easy home remedies for a week to about six months and if it still doesn’t help, you need to consult with a Dermatologist.
The home made face packs you could try are :
- Orange peel and milk
- Aloe vera juice
- Turmeric and milk
- Almond and honey
- Yogurt, Oatmeal and Tomato juice
- Turmeric and lime
Additionally keep your body hydrated at all times and you use Aloe Vera gel before setting outside the house later in the day and sunscreen in the first half of the day.
